An utterly pathetic performance from us yesterday. As soon as I saw the starting eleven I knew we would lose. It is possibly not a bad thing that we were knocked out early though as we really need to concentrate on sorting our league form out.

Agreed mpc. It was woeful really. Must have made it worse when Ba scored twice for Chelsea.
Suarez enhanced his reputation again today I saw!

^^^Ba has obviously done very well for us but he has made it very obvious recently that he wanted to leave so there is not a lot we could do. Cisse has been unhappy at playing out of position anyway so now that Ba has gone Cisse can play centre forward again and hopefully get back to scoring goals. We have a ridiculous amount of players out injured too so when they come back hopefully things will pick up. I am reasonably optimistic that we will start getting better results soon and move up the table.

From what I saw, Brighton just seemed to want it a lot more than Newcastle. As soon as Brighton went 1-0 up it was never in doubt really, and your line-up looked pretty weak.
We've got Derby away in the next round. Do you still go to any Derby games AM?

^ I went when they played Burnley (who did a smash and grab!) But that is the only match I've been to this year.
