Milan need a top class midfielder before another striker, especially one with a history like Tevez.

But then they'll probably sign him, he'll scoe loads of goals and be no trouble at all. Then you have my permission to go "nahnahnanahnah!

And yes, I'll be watching after the Derby game.

Mind you they didn't have much to beat at the weekenbd - Chievo were pitiful. In fact I got quite bored in the second half.

I was wondering why Mexes played instead of him at the weekend, makes sense now!

Bit of a battle between us and Inter over Tevez, he's an excellent player but we've got loads of forwards!!!

Apparently Man City don't like it that AC want him on loan with a view to buying. But given his history I think that is a very wise line for AC to take. Personally I would be quite happy if AC didn't take him. I certainly wouldn't want them to risk paying out much for him as he is likely to disappear at the drop of a hat.

I agree.

If Ibra stays fit i'd prefer us to wait for Cassano to come back.

Speaking of whom - from AC's website today:

AC Milan announce that in the course of this week Antonio Cassano has undergone neurological checks with the team
of Professor Nereo Bresolin and Dr Yvan Torrente and has visited the cardiologist Dr MArio Carminati. Both the checks have given positive results, therefore Antonio Cassano from tomorrow can begin individual, progressive athletic training.

Accustomed always to walk tall, usually Paolo Maldini does not care for rumors concerning him.
But then comes the day when he wants to clarify, to tell the truth, to put the poles. Today is the day.

Paolo, speaking in Italian or French?
"Italian, Italian. I get along with English and Spanish, but I know nothing of French. "

Well, I'll be studying. Or not?
"I understand what you're getting. But I went to Paris only to find two friends. Leo invited me for a long time, we decided to do a surprise to Ancelotti on the occasion of his first game, even if Charles knew everything. "

The Paris St. Germain made you a proposal?
"For now no, but that doesn't mean that it won't happen. I met the president, there is great mutual respect with him as well as Leo and Charles. The PSG is a club that is restructuring: not won for some time in France and wants to make a start at the highest levels in Europe. There is changing everything, I know what I can give: experience, love for the sport, the desire to engage in a serious project. But I never asked anybody anything. "

It's been a few months by the sentences of Silvio Berlusconi and Barbara calling for his return to Milan. Why has not happened yet?
"Berlusconi had spoken clearly and even Barbara had mentioned my name. The reality is that I wasn't offered anything. In these years I was asked to return first by Leonardo then Allegri and finally some of my former teammates. Yet I've have found a closed door in mangement. Leonardo wanted me close to the team, I would have been useful for him in any role. For Allegri I would have been the link between the players and the management."

He gave an explanation?
"Simple: Milan haven't wanted to bring me back."

There is an incompatibility between you and Galliani?
"For my part not. For his part, I do not know. And do not even know what is behind their choice. But I want to clarify some things. First, it is not true that they are discerning about my role in society. I have always relied on my strength, walked on my legs. I'm lucky, I have an enviable situation: I enjoy my family, I do not have economic problems. And I would not presume to teach the craft to those who are there for 40 years or wins by 25. I would go to learn and try to give something, give something back. "

And 'disappointed at the human level?
"Milan is in my heart and I want to repay the club. I have told this to Berlusconi. I'm not looking for fame and visibility. But over the years I have acquired an intellectual independence that I don't intend to give up. I only want the best for Milan and that might be a problem for someone. I'm not afraid to say things as they are and that might also be a problem."

Thinking to the situation between Juventus and Del Piero, it is possible that samples that have marked the history of a club at some point are considered too bulky to whom the club is asked to direct it?
"Yes you can. The sample head thinking creates problems. Agnelli's announcement about the end of the relationship with Del Piero has hurt me: it was not for him to say. What sense is there such a thing? He should talk about Alexander when he felt ready. And as for me, my eventual return to AC Milan would be a way of saying thank you. I have so much love for the Milan shirt, almost a completely unconditional love. The only condition is that you can do the job with my ideas of life, clarity and honesty. And sooner or later happen. If there is to Milan, I would not be seen as a traitor, I do not care about the voices I hear about me, but I want to clarify things. I'm in love with football and one day I will work in this area again.

How many offers has been challenging so far?
"I received an offer from Chelsea when Ancelotti was the coach there, but I rejected it. And then I got an offer from New York Cosmos. It was interesting, but not clear. They wanted me to do a bit of everything."

The entry of new rich predominantly Arab or American owners can quickly overturn established hierarchies between the clubs. Is this good or bad?
"I think the big clubs historians should not feel threatened and that for the rest of the movement is only an advantage. Just that everyone respect the rules. I was in Qatar and I saw incredible passion. "

Moving on to football. The derby ugly, huh?
"Ugly. Cold in every sense. Also on a technical level. Inter did what they had to do but it wasn't a good game."

Milan is favorite?
"Yes, it's the strongest team. But Juve will remain there until the end thanks to the enthusiasm, the new stadium and the great work of Count. Can meet the technical gap with other weapons that against AC Milan. Borriello has always done well in the Rossoneri's up to him to show they can make a difference in Juve. Inter has already done great things to reassemble with the pragmatism of the coach, now comes the difficult to keep up. I think Ranieri's team is still recovering. It is ordered, but played in fits and starts. "

The exchange-Pato Tevez would not?
"Difficult to understand from the outside what was behind that operation. And do not even know if it's really gone down everything. "

What do you think of Pato?
"Pato is blessed with talent. But when you're aware of that, your progress can be more slow. The day that I see Pato carry the team, not only with his goals but also with his attitude, then I will consider him a super-champion. For now, Pato is a talent who has the potential of becoming a champion."

Pato may have suffered the rumors about his farewell to AC Milan?
"Yes. Pato looks cool, but what you feel inside is different perhaps from what you reveal. For him there must have been a light week. "

To depend on a phenomenon is normal. But isn't Milan depending a little too much on Ibrahimovic? At the time of Van Basten it wasn't so.
"That Milan had a much stronger squad. Ibra is Milan's treasure. He's dominant and able to carry the team. He always plays and never holds back."

Ibrahimovic plays a lot for the team, but hard to find with the other strikers. It happened in Barcelona and now with Pato.
"It may be that he tends to talk for features with more midfielders or with whom you enter from the other toes. Ibra's problem at Barça was philosophical, mental. Ibra is direct and Barça plays in a different way. For a second striker, playing alongside Ibra is the maximum. But the role of Pato is not easily cataloged. "

Gattuso has heard recently?
"Not after the new complications. The hope is that this time was really found the cause of his problems. It's crazy, I'm very displeased. "

He imagined that there might be a round of betting has emerged as what?
"What's ... I do not quite imagined. In the field there are so many statements that we put a little clumsy to distort a game without anyone noticing. These are sick minds. And one who does so is born with the idea to steal, to distort. Those who love the sport do not even think about certain things. "

Once his days were punctuated by trips to Milanello. Now what?
"From trips to school and where my children Vismara train. Cristian plays in students and is the defender, Daniel is in the Beginners and makes the wing a little 'to the right and a little' left. In addition to the boys, I deal with my stuff. And I do sports: tennis, boxing and football, 7-a-side with friends on Saturday morning. Strictly in the attack after a life in defense, I fancy to dribble and score goals ...».

Paolo, today made clear on everything. There is one final point: it is true that getting a divorce?
"Absolutely not. I know that on some sites and newspapers had come out this news. I have not ever cared voices. But the funny thing is that if it denies some people think it's true. And I'm tired of seeing people who meet me or calls me and asks me how it goes home. At home is fine. And I'm happily married. "

I was a bit surprised that he never was offered a role at AC Milan and wonder if Galliani to name but one feel a bit threatened by the idea?

He can come and train with me anytime he likes!!!! Razz

I thought you'd like that AM!

When he retired he said he wanted to take a year out but Berlo said Milan would offer him a job. Seems strange that they haven't (according to Paolo)?

In his interview he seems to say its down to Galliani???

He should have a role at Milan, so should Costacurta. I'd be gutted to see him working at PSG.

Was it a "saw this and thought of you moment?" Laughing

Costacurta spent a year there with the coaching staff after he retired from playing didn't he? Then moved into management, unsuccessfully.

I always understood that Maldini doesn't want to coach.

Would appear they aren't to averse to the idea bearing in mind the PSG saga! He doesn't seem to be fulfilling his potential, and he was terrible against Inter.

Yep, I think Galliani is losing patience with him - he defo wanted him out and Tevez in recently. He kicked off a bit last time Pato was injured about him being injury prone.

Maybe they may swap him for Super Mario in the Summer?!
