| True that Taz. People need to read more into his 2nd place finishes though. For example, off the top of my head:
03/04 - first season of Abramovich's money. Runners up to an unbeatable Arsenal team.
08/09 - runners up to Mourinho's Inter in Juventus' second season back at the top.
09/10 - rescued us from a real mess, went on a 24 (I think) game unbeaten run. Had we beat Sampdoria at home we'd have won the league. Or if Siena had have got something off Inter on the final day.
But yeah, certainly a league title would add a lot to his managerial credentials. He deserves it imo.

Those are impressive stats. In that Chelsea season, he also got them to the semi-finals of the CL. Also, in 2006-07, he secured Parma safety when many people wrote off Parma. With Juve, he did keep us challenging (beat Real Madrid twice) and got sacked eventually. Even though many people thought it was a good decision to sack him, just look at the two seasons after and you will get your answer. At Roma, he did very well and after beating Inter 2-1 at the Olimpico, I had it as Roma's Scudetto to lose but the Sampdoria defeat proved crucial. Like you said, i hope he does win a title soon because he does deserve it. (Hopefully not this season. Would like to see us finally win the Scudetto post Calciopoli. | |
