| I've just had a horrible thought:
last time Italy got to the final they played the then world champions and lost to a golden goal. It wouldn't be a golden goal but I hope history doesn't repeat itself as Spain are current world champs. | |

| Tbf we lost out to the best team and going from losing 3-0 to Russia at the start of June to getting to the final of Euro 2012 exactly a month later is not what I expected. | |

| Nightmare start, you cannot concede a goal to Spain in the opening 15 minutes. Long, long way back after that and they'll just pass you to death, making you even more tired, whilst waiting for an opening for another goal.
After they did score the rest of the half was even, possession very equal. Not too many real chances though unfortunately. Second goal 99% killed the game, Di Natale had to score his chance early in the second half for a comeback to become a possibility.
Once Motta went off there was no chance. 2-0 down to Spain is bad enough with 11 men, never mind 10 (whilst still keeping 2 up front).
Still proud of the lads though, I even doubted if we'd get out the group, so it's been a great tournament overall.
Spain are fooking awesome mind, the only way I can see somebody stopping them is if they appoint Steve Kean as manager. | |
