It looked like Zlatan wanted to take him out but like you said, he is not having the last laugh now. I wonder if this will the swansong for Ibra's international career?

| Don't think I've ever seen an England v Italy game. There was a friendly around 2000 I think but too young to even recall that.
Tasty indeed, forza Azzurri!

Tasty indeed, forza Azzurri! They played a friendly at Wembley in 1997 which Zola won: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcDEOYWu80EAnd also they played England in the qualifiers for the 1998 World Cup England drew in Rome I think and condemned Italy to a play off with Russia and I distinctly remember Buffon at around 19 years of age having to come on to make his debut in Moscow early in the game when Pagliuca got injured. I mainly remember it because it was played in a snow storm! Buffon played a blinder if I remember rightly.

| Can somebody help me here? Media are saying the Ukraine "goal" should have been offside. I cannot for the life of me see where because the scorer was behind the ball when it was passed and the previous pass from their own half was ok too. | |

I recall they did play a Freindly in 2000 or so when Taylor was put in charge on a temp baisis after Keegan walked out. If i can recall England played an entire team under 30! Unlike Forza Italia though and unfortunately I am not too young to remember this game

Unlike Forza Italia though and unfortunately I am not too young to remember this game I remember that, didn't he make Beckhham captain. And you should worry - I can remember when England last won a tournament!!!!

He was offside to be fair. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBgRNq0SKmAIt kinda pauses at about 00:06, which is when the pass was played and he was off.

| Thanks for that FI. The only previous viewing I had was on tv and from the half way line camera which was no help. But from this clip it is clear he is definitely offside. You see I do try to be fair in my assessments. I'm a bit puzzled at people saying how well the defence played because in the first half they frightened the life out of me because they kept going missing. Will miss Saturdays qf which will be the first one I've missed but then will have to record the important semi because, fool that I am I got mixed up and invited my friends round who I learned Italian with and they aren't interested in football. | |

| The last time they played each other was a friendly in 2002 at Elland Road. Vincenzo Montella scored both goals in a 2-1 success. | |
